'G' Diverter Valve.
« on: February 21, 2014, 04:02:13 pm »
Hey guys. I fitted the forge DV to my golf other day but I ain't so sure of the sound it gives off. I've been told to go with the 'G' valve. So I went into VW York today to see about one and a cruise control stalk.

They took my reg, at first didn't know what a diverter valve was, then he came back with what I was after and said that there system says that only the 'D' is compatible with he turbo attached to my car. Has anyone ever heard of any problems using the 'G' on an 05 GTI?

I can only guess that it's another VW dealer that doesn't know much about its cars! I had a rev G fitted on my 05 GTI with no problems. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will be on here to correct me! Just get an indy to fit it if the dealer won't.

It will certainly affect the feel and mpg if your current dv is knackered and you change to a new one. However if your current dv is in good condition then I'm not sure if there will be any noticeable change. If you want a rev g though there's no reason why your dealer shouldn't order one for you even if they aren't fitting it. They should supply any part you want for any VW car.

from experience:

  • Spec D's leak
    Spec G's eventually fail
Forge need a slither of grease every now and again to work properly
    DV+ is a load of sh*te
