Loud clunk when setting of for first time.

When my car been sitting on drive for the night with handbrake on. When i select reverse and start moving i get a loud clunk like the rear brake or handbrake is sticking on. The rear brakes do look like there gona need replacing soon. What can i try or grease to stop them sticking.

Is this after its been raining? This happens to me after the cars been sat in rain or washed and the brakes stick a bit when you first drive off.

Sounds like it is just the pads sticking. Tends to do it after a load of rain and you get that bit of corrosion on them. Nothing to worry about.

Is it a dsg or manual? As others have stated it could be rain getting on to discs etc, mine used to do that but i started putting foot on brake pedal before putting in to 'P' which stops any roll back when enganged in park, this solved the issue on my dsg
