My new Red GTI
« on: December 06, 2008, 11:33:41 am »
OK Guys I have had my Golf GTi for 1 week now, its not perfect got a few issues with it.

Including:

Alarm seems sensative has gone off 4 times since I have owned it.
Rear badge is scratched - not an issue my dad works in Germany and can pick me one up for £60
Interior Lights dont seem to work at all - possibly just a fuse?
There seems to be a bit missing on the factoy air filter where it connects to the nose of the car - is this where the filter bag should be?

Anywho - I love driving it it feels amazing - its my third VW and the best GTI I have owned by far feels fantastic.

Heres a pic.

Welcome to the forum!

The piece of the air intake that is nearest the front grille of the car is in all honesty very cheap and flimsy, and there have been a few members of GTI forums that have had their intake basically fall to bits, and in some cases actually fall out of the engine bay (including me).

The filter sits in the airbox at the back of the engine bay (where the maf is connected), and the little box at the front of the engine bay is just an air pocket collection box linked to the main intake through the front grille. You can order one from your dealer, and it wont cost much!

Welcome.

Hope you get your issues sorted.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
