Will get it looked at but want to know if I pull the ABS fuse out the car will be ok...

no the car will burst into flames the minute the fuse is removed!!!  :signLOL:

If you don't know if the car is ok to drive without ABS then you should really take your car to a garage  who specialises in VW/DSG perhaps, and leave the diagnosing to them.  :happy2:

That response was not particularly helpful.  The OP already stated he'll get the car looked at.  He simply wanted to know what the implications were with no ABS.

From my own professional, and exceedingly lengthy experience - having non-working ABS is no different to say pre-ABS cars being driven with seized rear brake load proportioning or load limiting vavles.  And again, relying on my said experience - driving a car with just one tyre under-inflated by a mere 6 psi is arguably more dangerous than no ABS.

I've not been around here for a while (for very personal reasons), but I thought the fundamental ethos of this particular highly regarded forum was to help out others with genuinely helpful (and where possible - technical) information.  I'm not sure your previous post met that particular standard of ethos.  By all means, add banter, and berate the stupid - but only AFTER they've been advised of the correct info.

Just my very humble opinion, Guv.  :drinking:

Many thanks Teutonic Tamer!

I have joined this forum such ADVICE...not to be mocked.

Will keep everyone updated on what happens - It may be a nighmare for me but hopefully it can help others if they ever find themselves in the same situation.

I was only advising.
I have messed around with cars before I really understood what I was doing and done a lot of damage.
So I would advise if you don't really know what you're doing then a garage would be the best and safest option.

No offense meant..

Manthei was absolutley right - changed the ABS rings and bearing and jobs a good'un!

I would like to thank everyone who has helped.

Still waiting for the final invoice but I think around £200 parts and £120 labour.
