E92 325D
« on: March 02, 2014, 05:27:53 pm »
I'm looking to scratch an itch of owning a BMW and an E92 325D M Sport is taking my fancy. Has anyone gone from a GTI to this?

I am abit vary about regretting selling the GTI as I love the way it drives but I love the way the E92 looks so much!

I would love a 335 but they are slightly out my price range and the potential running costs scare me of them

I came from a 330D M-Sport to the GTI.

They are pretty fast and are good on the fuel etc but just after a while found it dead boring. Really heavy on tyres.

Missed being able to just be a bit of a scum bag haha. Had a Focus ST before the BMW.

Good cars though. I would say for resale just make sure it has full leather etc.

The later 325d is supposed to be very similar to the 330d. DMS is showing 285 Bhp from a remap for 2011 onwards 325d and 298 Bhp for the LCI 330d.

The later 325d reportedly share the same engine as the 330d, so a tune gives similar results.

The problem with the 325 (diesel or petrol) is that it has all the disadvantages of the 3L, consumption, consumables etc etc without the benefits.

The 330D`s seem to go for a lot more money though in M Sport Spec. You can pick up a 325D for similar money to a 320D so seemed like a no brainer to me.

325d will be too slow for you mate, without a deccent engine in them the 3 series are pretty lifeless. if you want diesel, 335d or maybe 330d is the only way to go.
