Whistling noise
« on: March 18, 2014, 10:57:55 pm »
Just bought the new car and noticed there is what sounds like a whistle noise that i think is coming from the back wheel area.. only seem to hear it under 30mph or lower.. not a constant noise but can hear it when the noise appears.. Pads are due soon so wondering if it could be to do with them or maybe something else?

Thanks

It's most likely one of the back calipers sticking on a bit, or as you said, the pad could be near the end of its' life. Once you change the pads out, and the brake assembly gets cleaned & lubricated, the noise should stop  :happy2:

Update..

Not certain on this yet as i've only driven the car 3 - 4 times since i picker her up on Tuesday

I haven't yet heard the whistling noise when the car is cold so for now.. I'm saying it happens when the car is warm but i am not garunteeing this comment as i haven't driven it enough to pin point fine details out
