Exhaust or No exhaust
« on: March 03, 2014, 05:49:48 pm »
Okay so it I'm currently in the process of changing my rear bumper valance and I'm really not sure what to do. I was initially going to get an r32 one but I decided to go for a gti one instead. I have ordered it already from my local TPS and im now sitting here thinking about what I should do with it. Here is what I'm trying to decide on

EXHAUST/NO EXHAUST/EXHAUST TIPS

Exhaust: This will obviously make the car sound louder and also make a dent in my wallet in terms of fuel lol, but it will be expensive to do and this is my 1st car meaning I don't want to blow up all my money on it

Exhaust tips: They look good and it would also be a cheaper option to choose but whats the point of having 2 exhaust tips and then you're car sounds like a vauxhall corsa 1.2 when you start up and accelerate  :signLOL:

Bumper smoothed: Im also considering this option seen as it looks very good in my eyes but then again it would be around the same price margin as getting exhaust tips glued to my car because I would have to get my body shop to smooth the exhaust hole to make it look something like this

My cars engine size= 1.4

So I'm asking for thoughts...

I bought the smooth, no exhaust cut out version of the R32 valance from PPCGB for my 1.6. Mainly to keep it subtle (didn't want to give out the wrong impression at the lights if I had the twin pipes!) and make it aesthetically nice to look at compared to my scuffed standard valance.

Plus being a daily, cheap runabout I can keep my standard exhaust which keeps the costs low! My valance is getting painted and fitted around the 20th, I can post up pics when done to give you an idea.
