Its impressive whichever way you cut it. More importantly it helps SEAT define itself as the sport arm of the VAG group.

To be fair to Seat they have always been open about the fact the lap car was fitted with the 'performance' pack option and if that pack should allow the deletion of aircon as was the case with the R26R then I'd still class it as a credible achievement tbh 
Besides it's made all the more impressive by the fact the performance pack runs RS3 brakes and everyone knows how crap they are...

I'm not fussed by it at all, just makes them look a bit silly when info gets released so far afterwards. It's taken a huge chunk of time off the record, aircon or not.

You don't need brakes, they just slow you down.

Well done Seat, always had a soft spot for them and would love another Leon, Could be a tough call between a Mk6 Gti and a Leon Mk2 Cupra R if we get in a position to by another performance hatch but really like that coupe version of the new one.

Toying with driving to my 'local' dealership to take a look, as they have one in stock. Bit put off with quality issues on SCN forum, though. Apparently the door seals leak and the wind noise around them is really loud.

The early Mk2 Octavias had noisy door seals which they fixed probably by stealing them from the Golf.

I guess it will come down to how it drives as you could always fit a loud exhaust.

MK3 is alot better built than the MK2... its a big step up

My problem is my memory now I'm old. I'd never remember to sit the bucket on the seat to catch the drips when I parked up!
