Out of interest, does anyone know if the MQB cars have the same wheel specs? I assume the PCD hasn't changed and I'm pretty sure the offset is around 50, so that's good, but is the centre bore still 57.1? I'm hoping to keep my Turinis as winter rims, as long as they'll fit OK...

Mk5/mk6 platform wheels would seem to fit the MQB cars, there's a VW dealer selling a mk7 R with mk6 R wheels on for some reason and a few on the mk7 forum have used mk6 wheels as winters etc  :happy2:

Wonder if Michelin are developing a "cough Cough" Semi Slick for Renault and employing a Touring car driver, why not just put Sabine Schmidt in there I think she knows the track as well if not better than anyone else  :happy2:

Looks like the Fronch boys want their record back...

That will prove absolutely nothing

The SEAT had bigger brakes and different tyres IIRC?

Totally different to the stock car lol

Well you say totally different to a stock car, but if they then launch a car you can buy with all that on the options list (like the Cupra pack giving Brembos and PSCup2s) it then becomes a 'stock' car.

I reckon they'll take it. Just. And Honda will wait for them to do it before having a pop.

They're releasing the performance pack :stupid:??

Renault won't be as this is an old model?

Does the cupra have a proper LSD like the Renault?

Not sure I follow you.

My definition of "stock" means it has to be something that any punter can walk into a dealer and buy. The Leon will soon be available with the Brembo/PSCup2s/etc, which will then make their time legit.
So to take the official record, the Megane will have to be likewise, they'll have to offer all that kit either as a special edition car or at least on the RS265's option list.

Do you see what I mean???

Clio Trophy had fancy Sachs dampers. R26.R could be specced with a titanium exhaust & R888s.... it's not like they've not done it before.

They won't offer that though, because they're bringing out a new shape aren't they?? Unless I misread it wrong and they're keeping the same shape?

Renault has twice before held this record, most recently with the Mégane 265 at 8m7.97s, and it is looking to give the current Mégane one last hurrah before an all-new model is launched next year.

So basically they're modding the older version just to try and beat the cupra time?

Has the MK7 R been around yet? Or did I miss the memo?

The R26.R was right at the end of that shape's life, the last hurrah. They're doing the same here, one last willy waving goodbye with a seriously stupid version of the current car.

Says a lot though when they can still get an old generation car around a track as fast, if not faster than the best the competition can do with their new ones, eh?

The new one will probably be mental.
