Welcome to the forum mate. I'm based in Chorleywood. SO i'm guessing your local dealer would be Munn & Chapman in Little Chalfont? mines booked in there for a service at the end of the month. But I had the cambelt, tensioner, water pump done at Lazslo VW Audi in Harrow.

Do you have an independant that you;d recomend more local to Amersham?

Hi Benny!  Being that local no doubt I'll probably see you around!

Yup VW in Little Chalfont is my local.  They are part of the Citygate network.  I had it in there for a service & MOT earlier this month, simply for convenience.  They were good enough service wise.  I've not tracked down a reliable local specialist yet, but Amersham is packed full of independent mechanics garages!

The obvious VAG options I can think of are Fontain in Iver or Yaash (Yaashik Motors) Motorsport in Park Royal/Wembley area.

However there is also Phil Crouch Engineering in Amersham opposite the Audi garage.... they are one of the best BMW specialists in the country, but also have experience in VAG cars.  I've not yet used them, but will explore them as an option next time I need mechanical work done.  My cousin has his E36 M3 and 635csi maintained by them, and swears by them.

Lovely looking car, same as mine  :driver: except for the wheels.

You got yourself the Ltd Edition plaque yet ?

Not yet.  Although not sure I will...
a) not sure where I'd put it
b) on howmanyleft it shows there are approx 2200 edition 30s... so is the plaque really worth it..  2200 is still fairly limited, but the plaque reads 'of 1500' doesnt it?

As it's free, I think its a nice feature to go with the car. The plaque only gives you a build number not 1234/ of ----. Comes with a fitting guide as it is fitted to the inside section of the passenger door. The How many left website is grossly inaccurate.

Nope - not into the cruise scene.  Not raced it as such, an enthusiastic drive yes.. race nope.
Will 1/4 mile it at SantaPod at some point, or at GTI International if I attend this year.  I will probably go on a track day or too, but after writing off my previous golf (Mk3 VR6) at the Ring, I'll be taking it a little easier with this one!

Re: Plaque - might apply for one then ;-)  guess there is no harm!

Nice, cheers. I'll give them a shout. Probably see you around the way then. Best of luck with the motor.
