Pad Recommendation For Glazes
« on: March 04, 2014, 12:13:50 am »
Recently ordered all the stuff I'm going to need to do a full detail on my car..

Only thing is I'm not sure which pad to order to use with Megs #7 Glaze.. So far i've got an orange and white hex logic pad for cutting and finishing but i want to add a glaze to the paint before waxing to give it something a little extra to help improve the glossy clean paint look..

Any advice on which pad at all?

I've looked at the black, red and blue but not sure which is best suited to do the job when applying the glaze.. Also as an extra.. if i were to apply the collinite 476 wax with a pad.. which pad would be best suited to that? while I'm on the topic of pads.

Thanks in advance,

Carl.

white hexlogic pad is fine with glazes..
black/red/blue are all for applying waxes... black you can use with a super fine finishing polish as well.

I use black for lime prime (I just apply manually if using a pure glaze).

I tend to use white with menzerna polishes eg final finish.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Hi Carl,
We would generally recommend blue or black hex logic for glaze application although white would be ok.
With the 476s we would suggest applying by hand using a round foam applicator.....a good tip to ensure I nice thin even application is to soak the applicator in warm water & squeeze it our before applying. :happy2:

Thanks gents, have ordered myself the black hex logic pad for the Megs #7 glaze and also have bought some foam applicators for after to then apply the 476s wax. Also thank you for the tip on using preparing the applicator. :happy2:
