heated mirrors not working. golf gti mk5

My heated mirrors not working.
Any ideas how to check we're to start. It's a golf gti mk5.....

Hate to state the obvious, but a lot of people think there attached to the rear window, but the heat setting is on the mirror switch, are you aware of this?

its been on the on the centre (o) since ive own the car,will that make any difference..

is there any fuses for it..or diagrams

You need to flick it round to the little heat symbol. At the top of the switch have a close look and you'll see it, loads of people mis it

on the mirror adjuster theres a simble of a heated mirro sign ,mine is on that already and its still not working..

Oh right sorry thought you said its on the centre position,  anyway both heated glasses are controlled via the window modules, if all other things in the doors are working, no fuses are blown.

First thing I'd do is pop a glass off and measure voltage on them,  with engine running,  if no voltage then perhaps try another switch, there might be a minimum temp that that work at so it needs to be quite cold first

I think from memory it has to be 10 degrees or less for them to work.

Not much danger of it being above that much at the minute!

I've changed the switch. And today was a good time to check it worked as it is foggy . but it still don't work.any things else it can be..?
