Fitting drl strip

Afternoon all,
Any ideas on how to install/wire a drl strip to golf mk5 without auto lights? Would like them to come on with engine on but cut off when dipped beam headlights are switched on. Is this possible?

I might be wrong but I though these were wired to sidelights? You may be better off buying a kit then all you have to do is connect to the battery and tap into the correct headlight wire. They'll then come on when the engine starts. Philips do one where they'll also dim when the headlights are activated...
Biggest problem is where to mount them without making the car look tacky
