So after sleeping on it I think I want to stay dub, I feel more at home with a golf and love the shows and atmosphere.

Here are some I have found, I am not sure weather to go for a 170 Diesel or a GTI I do around 250 miles a week

Basically I am saving for a house at the same time but will be doing small mods to the car to make it my own and want a sort of long term project. My Leon at the moment is awesome it's just you can't do much to mod it.

As much as I love my GTI I'd probably go for the 170 TDI if I was doing 250 miles a week, otherwise fuel costs would get out of control. Also the top GTI in your post for sale at Evans Halshaw has been on the market for well over a month, if they can't sell it at that price it must have something wrong with it putting people off.

Do you know how much roughly it would cost to bring a 170 up on a stage 2 remap with uprated brakes?

Go for the 140bhp. Less problems with it. No dpf etc.

I get 70-80 miles off £20 In my 300bhp cupra

What type of driving do you do.

I think I want a petrol now, the leon has 220bhp so need something which is more fun to drive for summer etc

I do around 200 miles and spend £60ish. Not too bad

I probably do around 200 miles a week. I have the 170 currently at 220bhp/350lbft and average 53mpg over my 13 mile commute to work. This would be 70% national speed limit A roads with the rest being 30mph built up areas.

Depending on where you go remap would be £250-500, DPF delete £350-500 and I picked up a set of Audi S3 brakes from £500.

I guess it depends on how far you want to go with it. Only issues with the 170's were the injectors but should have all been sorted now under the recall.

See just doesn't seem worth it as I have a 170 leon now with all mods running 220bhp sold her for 6k and then I'd buy a 170 for 6k and need at least another 1000 to make it like the leon!

Looks like it unless a someone on here witha  stage 2 remapped 170 wants to sell :)
