KRL Got REVO'd
« on: October 05, 2009, 08:32:16 pm »
My S3 got treated to a stage 1 REVO map by AMDESSEX on Friday and I think it is fair to say that I am very very very pleased

AMD were very professional and gave me a brilliant service, I will certainly be taking my car to them for future work as I have now started my descent down the slippery slope!

They gave my car four runs on the dyno, the first one being standard and three remapped runs.  It was interesting to see how the ECU adapts with each remapped run - each run seems to get a little smoother and produce a little more power.  By the fourth run my car was producing a whopping 331 BHP and 339 lbft!!!

I do take dyno numbers with a pinch of salt though and am well aware of the different results seen between dynos.  What I will say is that I measured the pre remap output of my car with vcds block 120 and it came out at 280 BHP and AMD's standard dyno run of my car came out at 282 BHP so very similar.

AMD set my settings to B6 T5 F9.

I will be logging my car extensively and will post up the results, hopefully I'll get a chance to do this at the weekend.  I should have my SPS+ by then as well after speaking to Carl this morning

Next mod on my list is to install my BSH Catch Can and that should be me for this year  :signLOL:

iirc warrencox has revo stage 2+ on his S3, has only fitted the uprated fuel pump but is still running the std exhaust. so that is an option for a nice amount more midrange if you didnt want the expense of £1000+ for an exhaust system

Yes he will do eventually as EGTs will be a lot higher without a downpipe.

I will be going stage 2 next year at some point and am considering just going for a downpipe at the moment as it will bring the same gains as the full exhaust system at pretty much half the cost.

I notice your dyno run was done in 5th gear as well, same as mine when i had it dyno'd there the other day. quite interestedto know why they use 5th gera instead of 4th like most other dyno operators. also be interested to know the potentially different results the higher gear might produce

They will adjust them to suit the car really, theres no set settings for stage one but most people with ko4 have

 b7 t6 f9

my settings on stage one since adding intercooler and air filter are now b8 t6 f8

Mines still ok, but I think warren is running alot more aggressive settings than me. Mine are all dialed wayyyyy back.
