Engine cleaning

Has anyone used a company to clean their engine any recommendations within m25 appreciated cheers

Im nervous about cleaning engines.  Don't know any companies. I'd say be very careful as you can do more harm than good in the wrong hands.

I don't mean steam clean I should have said engine detailing however I found one with good reviews

As above its so easy do it yourself, all I do is tie a plastic bag around the oil cap, dipstick and the fuse box then rinse the engine bay (I use just a hose) spray the engine cleaner/degreaser then agitate with a brush then rinse, start engine to dry it out then I spray some engine dressing on  :happy2:

 Yup I bagged everything that looked electrical, sprayed de greaser then power jet on a low setting... was fine :happy2:

I just gave mine a wipe down with Surfex and that seems fine.

Spray with a degreaser... AS G101...BH Surfex... Snowfoam...Whatever..

Agitate with a variety of brushes.. just cover the fusebox/battery if you have no covers on them, and alternator... spray/jet off..
No worries.

You are not going to cause any issues by cleaning your engine bay so long as you don't go blasting directly at electrical connections or the ECU which is towards the back of the engine up near the Scuttle panel.  :smiley:
