RNS-510 sat nav issues
« on: January 20, 2014, 11:06:09 pm »
Hiya Guys

Its been a while since I've posted on here. But my RNS-510 has been doing my head in for a while now and think its time to see what's wrong with it.

I have Version C and the Firmware which stops battery drain. I find the Sat Nav just doesn't find satellites and even sometimes I even get the Regensburg Syndrome issue.

Then sometimes it works like a dream. I was wondering if this might be due to the battery drain firmware and if I should invest in a new Can gateway. Or could it be due to the GPS antenna that I was supplied with the RNS.

Hope you can help

Thanks Greg

GPS antenna i would replace first. Do you know where its currently located as it could have slipped? Mine started getting "floaty" and i would be in the north sea

Ok cool I will have a look at the GPS antenna this week. Are there any particular brands worth getting over others?

There are quite a few on Ebay.

Thanks
