How low can I go?
« on: March 15, 2014, 03:05:34 pm »
I'm not keen on my current stance and want to go a little bit lower especially on the rears.  I don't want it slammed but I would like there to bit little or no gap between the top of my tyres and arch.  I'm on 19"s however the arches were rolled by the previous owner I believe.   I'm not sure of the width and offsets of my wheels.  Would I get away with a 30mm drop all round?

You need to find the specs of your wheels first. Should be ok though

I had to fit coilovers to get that stance. Plus had to remove adjusters on rear

I'm on 19's (8.5j Et45 215/35 tyres) and mine fit perfect.  On the rear though I've cambered them to -2.5 degrees and added a 5mm spacer.  The fronts I haven't done anything to apart from the screw mod (http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10909&highlight=fender+screw+mod).  I rub slightly on the arch liner if I corner hard but it's never caused any damage and I do like to hoon it around sometimes.  I'm guessing your wheels will be around a similar spec as mine so hopefully this will have helped.  If you whip a wheel off you might have stamped the ET on the barrel :).

Quick photo for reference (It's a Jetta but it's the same as a Golf)
