I fitted them, and used a small cable tie to secure the cables to the RNS.  I secured them to the outer edge of the fan grill, you will see what I mean when you take you set out.

Just been out and removed the adaptor and plug them straight in. It seems to be better but i haven't drove it far so we will see tomorrow.
I had a look at the ground pin on sticker and it was three but I do not understand what I am swapping. They all looked the same.
Cheers :happy2:

No it doesn't but you could make a flying lead to attach them.

Make sure you pull out the right wire. For some reason, I pulled out the wrong one and only realised after I'd pulled it out. they're a pain in a backside to do.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

@ Stealthwolf - Do they just pull out and push back in?

@ anyone Removing the connector has slightly improved it but still no where near as good as it was with my RCD300. Also the clicking is getting worse and even comes on with the navigation voice! Ill have a look at the wires.
So I just swap the earth with 2?
Cheers

Also what aftermarket speakers would be good for the mk5. As I said early I have a Sub and Blaupunkt 555 amp.

Taking the individual wires out of the plug is a complete paint the backside. I used a prong of a tweezer to ease the wire. The wires have 'barbs' to keep them in place.

Just read this post. No it doesn't. I used a Blaupunkt THA 555 Amp which uses a separate wiring loom. The normal quad-lock goes into the new wiring loom and there is a quad-lock on the new loom which goes into the back of the RNS. That is all that is required to fit it. Its really easy! :happy2:

You can also use a Line Output Converter (LOC) to get a line-level output, I'm making up a plug and play wiring loom right now with a LOC attached to it so I can use it with my amp and sub. I'll write it all up once I've done it and post it up here if that helps?

Cheers! The plug and play wiring loom I'm making will also connect up my Bluetooth kit and the MDI kit, but it can easily be built up in stages. It took me ages to dig out all the bits of info I needed, pull it together everything out and get all the right bits so I figured there was a need to put a guide together for anyone else who might want to do this.

I though I'd do it in three parts, LOC/amp connector first, then with bluetooth connection and then with the MDI but the MDI kit has some duplicate parts in it so I'm not sure if that's the right order - Either way I'll figure it out and put something together.
