Edition 30 production number plaque

Hi there,

I have tried a quick search of this forum but didn't find anything on the first couple of pages of results.  I have recently purchased an Edition 30 and the previous owners didn't seem too fussed or didn't know to order their production number plaque from VW.

Are these something that can still be obtained from VW?  If so, does anyone know the best place to start and if not, does anyone know how I could find out the production number of my car and then go and get a replica made up?

I went through VW main website contact us bit but it was this email that got back to me and from then on the one i replied to.

Guess a picture would do. Its just for proof of ownership.

My wrote my VIN into the original email in the attempt to speed things up a bit. My first email was on 6th January and i received it last friday (7th Feb)

You get a letter with it on headed paper with the day it came off the production line too. I haven't even stuck my plaque in my car haha

Contact WV customer services on 0800 0833914. Give them all your details (telling them your after your "individually numbered Golf GT Edition 30 plaque") and if one has not been previously sent out to a former owner one will be sent to you for free. If one has been sent out before then you will not get one.

IIRC you will need to send them (via email) a copy of your Reg Document showing its your car and they go from there.

I delt with a chap called Matthew Young but lots of peeps have delt with a lass called Jenny (I think).

I have just bought an edition 30 with no plaque too! rang up the VW number above and they have contacted me back already to say as soon as i send a copy of reg documents they will send the plaque 1st class recorded!
