Ok, I dont know why, as have never really drunk Brandy, but I have a hankering to try a decent Cognac.

Can anyone recommend a decent one that can be picked up in most supermarkets?

I know absolutely nothing about Cognac but, my mate swears by Remy Martin. He's one of them functioning alcoholics.

Not a fan personally... to me it tastes like fire. the only time I have drunk brandy (large measure of course  :surprised: ) is slamming it down after a curry.

I used to like Asbach which is German Brandy and very nice with coke.  :wink:

Rich is spot on. Go for a Vinda or Madras at your local Balti, and they'll be throwing this sort of licquer at you at the end.

I'm in a curry house every couple of weeks and always have to turn them down as I normally drive seeing as it's right after work. Want me to store them up and send them your way Andy?  :laugh: :drinking:

Go to Waitrose and pick up a bottle of Hine.
It's very easy to drink and you can get the nice one for £33 or the really nice one for £45.

Don't mix it with ANYTHING and don't put ice in it either.
Get yourself a decent brandy glass, warm it up in hot water and warm your brandy too if you want to.

You will more than likely enjoy that.

It's much nicer than drinking one of the supermarket's own branded VSOP or a Remy, Martell or Courvoiser VS (their VSOPs are alright).

Once you've started on a bottle of Hine, treat yourself to an XO from a known brand.

Having bought a bottle of H by Hine before (and enjoying it) I tried a bottle of Hine Rare VSOP, which is a bit dearer (but sometimes goes on offer in Waitrose) and its effin marvellous.
