Show me your RNS 510 Custom Boot Screen
« on: March 20, 2014, 11:32:38 am »
Hi All,

Just curious to see what Boot Screens you guys are running.

Ive seen these on Fleabay for £15 which is ridiculous  :fighting: seeing that it only takes 30 seconds to do.

Here my new one for today

This website has a catalogue of images: http://netdata.be/iso/?old=vw

Download or save the image you like, use the website to create an 'ISO' and then I would recommend using CDburnerXp to burn the ISO to a CD.
Link: http://cdburnerxp.se/en/home

Select ISO and use Track at Once to burn the CD.

The whole process takes 3 minutes.

Go to your VeeeeeW, do not put the key in your ignition.
Power up your RNS and insert the disc, after a few moments and some blank screens it will load the file 'Job done'

Alternatively you will need to press Eject - Star or i (depending on unit) and Setup at the same time. This will put the RNS into Firmware mode .
After a few moments you will be prompted to insert the CD.

Happy Days

Ive tried this with numerous images, gets all the way through to the last step and I end up with an SWL error 010306 :fighting: :fighting:
Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi Mate

If you use Nero or other Burners your chances of a 010306 is high.
I have just uploaded the 'Fast' this morning using XP burner - Link above.

I used to get the same error 010306 but the guide above removed this.

Could be your type of disc but im only using cheap ones myself.

* Burn as a single track at the lowest speed - x1
