Wheel Arch solution - Little Query
« on: March 18, 2014, 06:17:31 pm »
So after a week or so of having a lovely set of H&R monotubes fitted by Alex (who else!  :happy2:) I've had a slight bit of rubbing going on at the front but have seen the below thread from another forum which supposedly solves any problems! Sorry if there's an existing thread around for this, but I was just wondering if anyone on here has done this and if they've had it like that for a while if any flexing or distortion to the wheel arch has happened as a result? I was just thinking if the wheel arch liner tab is propped on top of the lip of the wheel arch; if it's applying a slight force to that lip, after time it might gradually flex or distort it even slightly?? It's probably just me going way over the top but thought I'd find out if anyone has had theirs like this for a while who can shed a little light on it!

Thanks!

If you are going low on standard 17in wheels and tyres its not usually a problem if you do the arch mod, its when you fit wider wheels you get more problems, so that's when you have to cut off the tab, or roll the arches, or introduce more negative camber on front

Just got the standard pescaras on pal. Car's not super low or anything, just at the right height for how Id like it to sit really. Its probably got about a 45-50mm drop at the current set up? Just didnt want to prop the tab up above the wheel arch lip and then for a few months time to see it being pushed down or distorted in any way :S
