Changing the front discs

It's time to get this done,so I'm going to change the pads for new ones at the same time.
Does the MK5 require the use of a wind back tool on the front calipers,or can the pistons be pushed back using pressure?

As far as I'm aware they can be pushed back without a winder tool.

I used a screw driver when doing them previously, but mine are now due again.

Only the rears need the windback tool on a mk5
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I used a wrench. Worked a treat!
