I don't think it was working with 2680 so possible VW knew about this hack and stopped it due to safety issues

Had it working on the 2660 firmware version but as I have an 'A' version unit I had to upgrade to an edited version of 2720 as my ipod track name would not change on the screen when the audio track went to the next song, frustrating!! :sad1:

Ipod issue fixed but no video in motion.........I did find it distracting when testing it on a large deserted, privately owned car park briefly. And it is illegal to have an operating tv/moving image in view of the driver when moving!!

Yep every time. Also if you press any other buttons or alter the volume then it will stop, which means you have to pull up again and press the 2 buttons again.

Mojo,

Yes mate I have the same problem, although I don't really miss it to be honest as I didn't have it for long. And in any case having to stop and do it again if you alter volume etc would become annoying. I agree with posts that suggest that Vw sussed it and altered it for safety. You could always shell out for a kufatec override lead or downgrade the firmware?

Still going from an MCD monochrome sat nav in an 06 GTI polo to a car that talks to me and has a flashy colour touch screen sat nav that actually plays my ipod properly, who am I to complain?!!! :signLOL:

Had to send my unit off, no freaky side affects  :signLOL: pays ya money and it comes back with video in motion built in, no external modules.

Ill see if he will let me tell people the company name...keep you all posted.

Darren

Darren did you get the go ahead from the company to let us know who they were? I'm thinking of splashing out for a TV in motion cable from ebay (about £80) but if it can be done for £25 please let us know.

Confirmation that they do it, basically they remap the unit so it doesn't pick up the speed sensor.

But..........they quoted me £50.00, would have to take the unit out and send it to them which would cost £10.00. Or could drive down there (they are based in Leicester), about an hour away from me.

I'm going to put a best offer in on a harness from ebay for £70.00, if I don't get it I will then drive down to these guys.

^^^ If they remove the speed signal then what happens to the navigation when you don't have a GPS signal (i.e. tunnel or built-up area etc)???

Good question Steve. I have no idea, I'm sure Darren will let us know if his still works.

Steve its like the tv-on in the audi's it doesn't intervene with the gps signal its just the signal for the video in motion.

Well I have just bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180484538448

Apparently this also fixes the battery drain issue when upgrading the firmwares, not sure if I should try or not! It is the same as the one in the link below:
