Morning guys,
Ok so I've cured the poor mpg, but have also had a problem with the Aircon on the car since we bought it. Basically it wasn't working. I've taken it back to the trader we bought it off and he has "repaired" it. I argued we wanted new parts to fix but trading standards states he can replace with second hand parts. Now I genuinely believe all he has replaced is a faulty compressor with a second hand one and the air con worked ..... For about a fortnight.
It was then diagnosed with low gas, I had it pressure checked and the garage said it was holding pressure but was low on gas.so they re-gassed it. Two weeks later- compressor is whining and it's low on gas again.
After absolute f***ing murder with the trader he has now agreed to get it repaired again. What worries me is how they are repairing it but principle is also making me loathed to spend the £700 plus to get it repaired myself.
I'm thinking if suggesting he replaces the compressor and I supply him with a condenser and drier and insist they flush the system out properly.
After war and peace(!) my question is : in your Jonestown opinion will this suffice or are we just wasting our time here?
Discuss please.. All help greatfully received..
Cheers chaps
