Stock boost
« on: March 16, 2014, 04:59:23 pm »
Guys, I know this has been asked millions of times before but I just wanted to check something!

My stock GTI is peaking at 16 PSI and tailing off to around 13.5 PSI. Sounds a bit high from what I have read but I may be wrong? I'm not complaining at all! Car runs very well, 2007 BWA engine with 42k.

Sound about right or higher boost than expected? No codes within the ECU.

Thanks

We'll no but I guess it could have had a map in the past. Sounds a bit low for a map to me though!

Is there an easy way to check for maps?

Rolling road

I asked a garage about this a while ago and they said there was a way to find if the ecu had been written to but can't remember

You could try vagcom? Do some logging

So I did some logs earlier and come back with a peak/spike if 17.4PSI and dropping back to 13.5/14PSI. Does this sound like a possible stage I map that's got some problems? Eg the dreaded Divvy valve??

Thanks

Can anyone confrim how loud their turbo spool is on a stock GTI? Can you hear it spool up in the cab and also hear the DV working?

Thanks
