Progression come to mind?..

Work out what else yo could get from an eddy with other extras that haven't yet been mentioned such as fitting R32 4WD system and also the cost of fitting this..

Then if that uses the 7k or more then start saving for a big turbo kit and necessaries to install after that?.. easy 450+BHP with the 4WD system?

Much bigger project and more money i know but what your getting in return and also having something different to any other Golf GTI/Ed30 and a sleeper compared to any M3 then when you pull up next to one and leave it... All fun and games.

Just injecting some other possibilities into the pipeline :)

At Stage 2+ my old ED30 was more than a match for an E46 CSL on track and kept up easily with E90 M3. This was at the Nurburgring. It had semi-slicks, LSD, Bilsteins, ARBs, WALK  etc.

Would love to of seen that! A de limited e90 M3 will do close to 200mph :driver: what's the top end of a stage 2+ eddy?

Not on the Nurburgring it won't.  :wink: the Eddy showed 180mph on the speedo, but was 168 on the GPS.

Looks like not just a CSL. e92 M3, 911, various other VAGs...amazing car. I would like to have something different to the normal 'M3' doing the rounds.

Ok, so my question leads on....

How to spend the first £2k?

BBK, ARB, LSD, Coils?

You really think brakes before LSD mate???

Obv not worth having all the power if you can't stop, but no point having all the power if you can't put it down properly.

It probably depends how quickly the op plans on taking it on the track, if its sooner rather than later, then yeah brakes first probs does seem right

That's awesome!  You smoked some serious motors!  Wonder how much of it is down to the driver and you having the balls/skill to drive like that and others don't?

Ask Greeners on here. He'd probably say I take an OD of brave pills when I drive on track. That was about an 8 or 9/10th's lap as I had a passenger. I only REALLY push it when I'm in the car on my own.

To get back on topic though. The MKV is a great fwd platform to build on and is very chuckable on track. If you go for full suspension mods it is an unreal car to use on track.

If the OP can afford a Cayman he should go drive one and see if he still has a problem with its image afterwards. I'd bet he doesn't.  :driver:
