Barnard's Volkswagen Poor Service

(1/2) > >>

Eddie-NL:
Don't like to bad mouth companies, but after these idiots messed up the Timing belt on my old golf. After reading Mandy's poor experience at this dealer time to post this up

Things that I considered to be poor service:

Tried to sell me a new light switch for £120 fitted - when the existing one only needed to be pushed back

Timing belt Tensioner came loose and car wouldn't start, asked me to use my own recovery to bring car back to dealer

upon arrival at dealer, salesman made a joke of saying I should have bought a new car of them earlier

After I got the car back it wouldn't give me any more than 46mpg, before i was getting high 50s

Car had to go back again, finally sorted on the 3rd attempt

They offered me free labour on my next service, told them I had bought a new car and their offer was not of any use to me. They refused to give me anything in lieu

I say avoid these T**ts

Sound pretty careless... log your complaint with VW UK.

I did and they weren't much help either

glad I bought a Skoda now, I ordered a mirror for my Vrs which took nearly a month to arrive. Complained to Skoda UK and they gave me £30 for the inconvenience

Mandy:
As Eddie said, had a few issues with Barnards, I'm not convinced they carried out the pre- sale checks thoroughly, resulting in our Golf R having a faulty Haldex pump the day we picked the car up. After a bit of hassle having to contact VWUK and the brand manager etc I think we've come to an agreement. They'll be paying for us to have the reversing camera retrofitted and next free major service, needless to say not at their garage though!

I dont know how garages can get away with stuff like this. The SEAT garage that I have always used are 100% spot on.
