Engine management light.
« on: March 27, 2014, 08:11:05 pm »
Was just driving and noticed the engine management light was on. Was outside my destination so parked up and popped the bonnet. Noticed that the engine cover had moved as it didn't look right.

Had a nosy round and the cover definitely had moved, I could literally move it with one finger. The air intake pipe doesn't have any screws in it! Which is why that moved with the cover. I also noticed that the oil cap had come off. Put the cover back in its original position as refitted the oil cap.

I'm just wondering if I need to get the car scanned and looked at, or if this was the likely cause of the light coming on. It's a standard 06 plate mk5 DSG gti. I've owned the car for about 2 months and I've not hand any problems since I bought it!

Cheers.
