the new or old family bus

With having 5 kids at home days out was a major affair as we at to take both cars and i was fussy were i would park mine incase it got parking dents etc.I  was looking for some thing cheap and found a toyota lucida advertised local for £500 with a years mot and 6 months tax,then on sunday he had dropped the price to £350so went and had a look and bought it.Its mechanically sound but needs a litte bit of work on the body work but wether it gets done is another think :signLOL:


The idea is to chuck the kids in and enjoy days out in the summer with out worrying about my car getting dented

Drove one of those around East Coast Australia - http://www.jucy.com.au/vehicles/jucy-crib-long.aspx
I also used to drive a lot of them around Southampton Docks when they were imported.

It was very functional and Ive the same idea as yourself should the Mrs and I have a family! Our van in Oz had done 325km!  :driver:

someone mentioned R32 rear lights, how about a car cover instead  :laugh:

Should be great cheap family transport right there.

Drop the oil every 10k miles and keep it clean and you shouldn't lose a penny on that in 12/18months  :happy2:

And would be great to use for thr tip run.

I paid £150, yes £150 for a 96P megane scenic that had 105k on it, 6 months tax and a full MOT, ran it for 6 months, then sold it for £475!, should have kept the bloody thing now, it was great fun to dump it anywhere!  :grin:
