both cars come with £1000 off, deals negotiated on both

the remap on the golf and maybe suspension would be the guts of a thousand pounds, so really just 2 grand between the cars.

S3 is 4 wheel drive, gets the power down alot better, unless you add a LSD

I had the same kind of decision to make, I went for the S3 in the end and am very pleased with my choice although I am sure I would have been just as happy with an ED30!

What you need to decide is whether the benefit of a AWD and a nicer interior justifies the cost difference of an S3 over an ED30 for YOU.  Other than that both cars are very similar.

Looked at the S3 and thought 'S3 FTW'

Then I looked at the ED30 and thought 'ED30 FTW'  :rolleye:

Tough choice but a nice one to have to make!  :happy2:

s3, better vfm imo in this case. Bigger brakes, good choice of mods.

of those two the S3  :happy2:, although I wouldnt generally buy a modded car (even though it makes better financial sense)
could prob get a bit more off than you think
ED30 looks overpriced for limited options
youre also comparing a 5dr ED30 vs a 3dr S3 ?  :chicken:

good luck :happy2:

S3 looks nice but think an ED30 is more fun. Nice choice tho.

Tough choice- I'm really missing 4wd in this weather!!!, which is what we have more of in this country.

Have you driven an ED30 and S3?  Go and look at both and go with your gut feeling, it will usually be the right one.

I have driven a revo'd Gti (260BHP i think) and really enjoyed the drive but have to say the s3 looks like a better all rounder, brakes, 4wd, interior, etc etc.
Hopefully take the plunge tomorrow one way or another   :drinking:
