Thanks for that. I don't currently have any issues, but was thinking ahead. Latest revision it is then.

The pcv delete will stop any issue of a pcv failing but wont stop the recirculation of oil in the air and neither will a catch can. Under boost the rear pcv valve vents the pressure back into the Intake and that is where the majority of the oil on the intake valves is from. Id stick with the oe pcv as race cars in the VW race series use them with no issues and their engines are used to the extreme during a race.

Depends on the car your average k03/04 car not really unless running big boost on a big turbo then you get alot of blowby and can basically be a necessity

Most of the oil vapour that gets on to the valves is from being vented through the rear pcv valve. A catch can does nothing to stop these vapours getting through and only stops the oil vapour from intake side when off boost or vacuum, which is very little when you are driving. They do very little to stop build up of carbon and are not worth the money.

Doesn't the latest PCV have a check valve at the rear to help?

One thing I'll say about race cars and the kit they use.  It kind of does prove that the kit is upto the job, however they are on a weekly maintenance schedule and every thing checked after each outing possibly being replaced more often than you think. (Or not replaced, I don't know)
