carbotech brake pads

Any body used them?

There are literally no front brake pad options on the market for the Mk3 Focus ST.

Carbotech have days they can do me the XP10 pad for 234inc vat. That's alot of cash so I want to know they are with it.

Needs to handle a 300hp 1350kg car on stock 325mm discs that is used on track write aggressivly but also work on the road

I get the feeling the XP8s are DS2500 equivalents.

 I'm thinking the XP10 I'd more DS3000/M1144 esque

Higher the number, naughtier the compound, so yes you're right.

I don't know about equivalents, as mine did many a track day on the XP6s with no fade, DS2500s wouldn't have lasted a hoon down the back lanes.  

They may have re-numbered all their stuff now, as I'm sure XP8 was the highest 'road compatible' one back then. Give the lads a bell, they're all very knowledgable and with some weight/power/car type/usage info will guide you to the right one.

Edit - yes, seems it starts at XP8 now, which is the fast road/track, so XP10 is probably ideal given you're on smallish solid discs - you'll need that little extra headroom.

Sorry Dave I don't.
EBC, Mintex, pagid and ferodo ask said they don't have any pads to match it so must be a new/rare shape.
They don't even seem keen to develop either

 Almost £100 more than ds3000 and M1155 pads

They're pukka race car stuff, so that costs. Mintex are great value which bucks the trend, but if they've not got a pad you're a bit stuck.

Although it's still buttons compared to what I'm paying for Endless pads on the BMW at the moment.

I've got them in PRoject Mu H16 if that helps...

That's a homologated pad and will be better than any carbotech product guaranteed, they're that good you will probably need to sort out a rear pad too... Completely flat mu graph at 0.8 from 200-800 degrees with huge bite

I don't say that ^^^^ lightly.

They start life at £311 plus VAT, if its the pad I think I've also got 1155 and if I haven't can make you some downstairs

Is it the h16-03 or H16-05 pads?   What are they like from cold and are they disc eaters?

Right Simon at our place is a mod on one of the Focus Forums, and evidently ive made a knob of myself again..

We're working on the back plates and Mintex are testing right now for Reg90 otherwise they would have been ready, they wont release 55 or F series until the whole range is ready.

The man who knows tells me Mintex are looking at the data next week before submission manufacturing will commence in 6 weeks time...

You'll be hard pressed to run out of headroom with 55.

Because we're pushing things we've taken the whole initial run, we've been talking to the popular tuning companies for months.....

I can sort you a set with some discount when they turn up, dont expect to buy them massively discounted from Camskill
