Polish and pad combo recommendation?!
« on: August 10, 2015, 08:20:44 pm »
Just got my car (black ed30 golf)
In the garage and taped up for machine polish using my da.
I havnt used it in a whole and I have hex logic pads and chem guys polish.
The pads have about had it as my dad has abused them.
Just started with v34 polish and doesn't seem to be doing a thing apart from creating a lots of dust! Looks like a joiner has been cutting wood in the garage lol.

So I'm after advice really on what will work well with a da on black vw paint?
I have chem guys v34/36/38 atm aswell as some meguirs and poorboys black hole which I've just been applying by hand.

I spent days with my DA and the chemical guys polish. Light swirls and scratched were removed but it was hard work i gave up on the deeper scratches. Going to get a new machine/polish one day soon.

Hmm not what I wanted to hear lol.
It worked well on my astravan which was silver but black shows every little thing up which I don't mind cos I plan on getting it looking like a mirror when I've learnt how to :)
I've just spent ages on one side of the bonnet and it looks slightly better but not like it should look after that amount of time and effort!

You just need to keep at it or get a polish with more cut. I spent 5 days last year and 4 days this year. Still not happy with it i will be investing in a better machine and polish for next year.

I was using v32 as the v34 did nothing.
