passport help

Just renewing my passport and im unsure if I need to fill out  the section for parents details or not?
Why can't they make them simple
Help guys?

Shouldn't that only be filled in if the applicant is <16 years old??

Cheers I read the book and I was really confused, I should of filled it in online and them send the form out at least then the right sections would have already been filled in
