Clunk from brakes while reversing

I've had my R32 for a few weeks now, and every time when I'm reversing and apply the brakes, I hear a pronounced 'clunk' from the passenger side wheel, almost as if the brake pad is jumping, or the caliper is moving. Has anyone else experienced this? It only clunks once each time I apply the brakes while going backwards.

The brakes are otherwise great and there are no other odd sounds from them. Just curious as to what's causing this!

Get your head in round them to have a look, did you upgrade the dust shields?

If its been wet after you come in from a drive, and left to sit for a while, the pads tend to stick to the discs...

Maybe a stone...

Should have mentioned that the car had new discs and pads fitted when I bought it. The clunk can also be felt through the brake pedal slightly. Could it be that the garage have forgotten to put in some sort of shim that stops the pad from moving slightly when you begin to brake? Even the slightest brake pressure causes the noise to occur.

If you cant get a look at it yourself, take it back to the garage ASAP, and take it easy until you get there....

  mine did this, although i tightened them up very tight after a quick drive to test i could stop they were slightly loose. so tightened them up again and all was fine.

only happened in reverse because that lifted the caliper up a few mm gripping the disk.

I'm gonna get a mate to have a look at it.. as much as I appreciate the years' warranty I got with the car, I'm not too keen on the 70 mile return journey to the dealership where I bought it, it's already been back once
