mk6 gti tsi v mk5 gti fsi

Is the 2.0 tsi turbo any good? Is it better than the 2.0 fsi turbo?
Reason I say this is because the r20 is using the fsi unit and not the newer tsi unit

I read somewhere (will see if i can find it) that the reason they are using the FSi rather than TSi is that the FSi responds better to tuning than the TSi so they were able to get the power they wanted without making "major" changes to the Engine.

It was probably less costly to use the FSI and K04 as it is already a proven product with the S3 and ED30 etc.  Mating a K04 to the TSI would have meant a lot more development costs.

it shouldnt really, well it does and it doesnt.  The tsi doesnt have alot of the same design flaws as the tfsi.

The bean counters just won that battle.

....Makes me wonder just how important these 'progress' changes really are.

APR has seen great potential with the re-map's on the new TSi engines, they have managed to get similar Stage 2+ gains without the need of an uprated HPFP for example, so it looks interesting  :happy2:

The TSI won't need an uprated pump as it can deliver 140bar out of the factory.

You may be correct but whatever the actual value, it puts out more bar than an uprated HPFP for the FSI engine.

Pressure isn't everything.  Tha failings with the TFSi stock pump were due to lack of volume and thus not being able to maintain the required pressure in the rail at certain RPM's.

What stu said lol.

Im keeping a keen eye on a OEM "uprated" fuel pump for our cars, and as soon as I get some hard figures and confirmation that it is indeed improved over our pumps will post up the details straight away  :happy2:
