Just changed mine and got loads of black silt out of it. 2 of the 3 plastic clips fell apart as soon as I touched them sink ended up having to thread a zip tie through the remaining hole to secure it back on. Rang vw and they are part of the fuel line and mega money  :sad1: oh well sorted and not leaking

I could see they were the push style to release. They either went brittle or someone else has had a to and given up previously which is what my money is on.

Got my fuel filter from vw. Going to fit it in the morn, do i have to clamp fuel lines or anything to stop petrol going everywhere or should abit of petrol come out then stop??

Where abouts is the fuel filter? Is it an easy change, would a an absolute novice muppet like me be able to do it?  :laugh:

Easy change bud. Jack up car rear drivers side. There are 3 pipes. The connections are a push fit and there is a tab on each one that you need to press in with a screwdriver. Patience is the key for this don't try to rush or pull apart. Did mine yesterday. Took about 20 mins and that included jacking up. Loads of black silt came out of the original one

Mine seems happier now it's running a clean fuel filter. The buttons were a fiddle to press on one or two of my fuel pipes.
