OETTINGER MK7 GTI & GTD
« on: April 04, 2014, 06:37:00 pm »

Quote
It ‘s that time again: The seventh generation of the Golf GTI has set out to defend its reputation as the leader in its own class.

And just like 40 years ago the GTI pilots look eagerly to Hessian Friedrichsdorf, where already the original GTI was helped by the legendary OETTINGER 16- valve engines for more power, and more status. Since then, the engineers at OETTINGER have traditionally been the benchmark for skillful development at the highest level and achieving the challenging balance of sportiness and style in every new model with passion and enthusiasm.

Pure suspense – The OETTINGER Golf GTI presented in the new edition from front to rear. To continue the sporty and dynamic traits, the OETTINGER Golf GTI aerodynamic package consisting of front spoiler with separate front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser and roof spoiler, succeeds impressively.  Motorsports inspired aerodynamics at the rear add a distinctively shaped roof spoiler with open flaps and rear diffuser in addition to the four sonorous exhaust pipes.

Golf GTD owners can look forward to the complete OETTINGER Aerodynamics package for their sporty offshoot with 2.0 TDI technology.  All components are, as usual OETTINGER, OEM quality and can be had as a complete package for € 1,990.00.

Another highlight is the OETTINGER 5 -spoke sports rims in finish variants “Redline Black” or “Black Silver Line”.   All OETTINGER sports wheels are manufactured in Germany to the highest quality and use the latest innovative laser technology.  This allows the “Black Redline” finish to provide a distinctive look with fine, red lines, which have been specially tailored to the hue of the red applications of the production model. Designed specifically for the Golf GTI and GTD, the new OETTINGER sport rim is available in 19×8.5″ with an offset of 50 and will fit all other Golf VII models.  (MSRP : 475.00 € / unit)

For the GTI, OETTINGER will offer a comprehensive range of accessories with genuine motorsport genes. It includes engine conversions up to 350hp as well as sports exhaust systems, coilovers, intercooler upgrades, air intakes with sport air filter, locking differentials, reinforced clutches and brakes. A special highlight is the ultralight OETTINGER 10-spoke sport wheel- specially developed for motorsports use, but also street legal.  Functional technology for the Golf VII from OETTINGER will be interesting, especially for the sporting and ambitious driver.

If i were single and in my mid twenties there's a good chance i'd like it. But I'm not on both counts so it's a no from me.

With the arrival of the pipe and slippers comes the appreciation of the GTI's & R's subtlety

I really like the oettinger GTI and GTD and the H&R .:R. The mk7 is growing on me but I don't like them standard, same with the mk6 (except the .:R)

Not sure on the spoiler or the wheels, but the front and rear splitters look fantastic and really improve the car  :happy2:

I think the mk7 is growing on me too - still looks huge, but has some sharp lines. The mk7 R as featured in this month's Volkswagen Driver mag is quite stunning...
The one thing I really hate is the mini quarterlight window near the mirrors.
