Talk me in/out of an R32
« on: April 05, 2014, 10:08:41 pm »
I recently purchased an Ed30 however I'm lusting after an R32  :sad1:
My Edition is immaculate and I couldn't fault it, it's a stunning well equipped car.

But I keep seeing these blasted R32's and they look soooooooooo elegant and Devine especially the blue one  :rolleye:

I know they cost more on road tax being a V6, and that they are heavy and not so tuneable as an Edition.

What would you guys prefer as I'm having sleepless nights

......R32 sounds nicer

....but would you miss the turbo?

R32 is heavier, but its 4wd.

i think the R32 looks mint with the central exhausts.

Only you can really decide what you want lol

Easy. The R32 is a better car than the one you own. Why wouldn't you upgrade? It's akin to a penis enlargement.

Test drive one you have no intention of buying (ie one in a colour you don't like). If you prefer the way it drives, then you know what car you need to own  :happy2:

I've owned a K03 & a K04 GTI and driven an R32 a lot (went to the ring in one ). They are all different beasts, the fuel consumption is ridiculous if driven hard, but they do sound good and have amazing traction. Couldn't have chosen a more planted car for the ring

I had 2 K03 Mk5 GTi's then bought a normally aspirated BMW 330, and really missed the Turbo shove. Can't wait to get back.

Some very good points and I do love that turbo kick  :rolleye:

I'm sending the Eddy in to R Tech for a stage 1 so hopefully I'll be more convinced, I guess I've been used to 4 wheel drive and therefore I need to give the Gti more time.

I'm such an impatient bugger  :stupid:

Thanks for the feedback guys  :notworthy:

R32s registered between Nov 2005 & 23rd March 2006 are £285 tax (£25 more than the eddy) then 24th March 2006 to July 2008 are £490. Pros and cons to both, have a drive and see which suits you, I love the ED30, love the DSG, love the FWD, addicted to turbo power delivery.

Surely you need to test drive both and make your own mind up as to what you prefer or if you prefer the r32 or a gti or edition or another car
