car went on the rollers at awesome on sat

well it ran ****e lol

woke up to set off to awesome and exhaust light was on

got to awesome plugged bluefin for fault code, the car then had a paddy, immobilised itself, wouldnt start or turn over or anything

got the standard map uploaded and started, then got the stage 2 map on and took it out for half hour, was boosting as standard and boosting different in every gear, 1st and 2nd was struggling to boost at all, 3 was maxing out at 10psi, 4th 12 psi and 5th and 6th maxing out at about 16psi

had it out for a few miles with it obviosuly still been in learning mode but nothing was changing.

Decided to stick it on the rollers anyway but wasnt expecting good figures or anything near what i should have been getting, this was proved right when it went on

heres some pics

best run was 233.7 bhp and 333.48 ft/lb torque

was expecting between 250/260 but i knew it wasnt running right

spoke to awesome and they suggested it could be the pvc system as they are a known weak spot on these engines

so got back to r lasses engine cover off quick check to see if i cud see anything, nothing much tbh

few bits of debree in end tunnel so cleaned that out

so now i need to contact bluefine to double check the map, will send them the print out etc and ask why the boost is so unpredicatble

so the continues to give me grief lol

drives fine, smooth etc and no problems, just not producing the power it should be

before

during

after

Took the car out to see how it was running, jst about to turn into my street saw my mum waved like a tool been silly, under cover traffic cop, looked at me strangely thought i was taking the pi** out of him, came after me, turned up my street, he followed with lights on, i carried on down road till i got to my drive and put can on it, then got out. was told to get in his car

did me for both number plates, front 3/4 and rear pressed plate even though they are dubmeister legal ones where i had to show documents, which he said he would follow them up as they have the BS numbers and postcodes etc that are necessary.

£60 fine and pics taken of both plates to send to the dvla so if im stopped again theres proof ive been told and they may take the plate off me

tool

not sure if it has sorted my problem fully yet, gonna put standard map on then re-map again after a couple of days on standard to see if that changes anything aswell, slowely gettin there i feel

Here's a pic of the broken PCV.
You can see the check valve inside is broken, the circular piece should be centred, but its broken a loose and never creates a seal.

got the intake on friday morning and fitted it quickly before i set off for a weekend away with the missus

the goods

before

everything out and air box in

intake in

the sound will take some gettin used to, its like having darth vader in the engine bay, will try n get a good vid to show the sound, havnt really had chance to notice the gains as cars had a steady drive when i have used it over the weekend but not used much.

Still needs engine cover chopping up to fit and also heat shield fittings as didnt have time to fit this, any good pointers for getting engine cover mounts off to fit heatshield? had one out before but was a ball ache and was slightly loose.

also a mate let me know you could see my car in golf+, was a feature on awesome gti and must have been done when my car spent most of its time in there

A very nice car you've got there :) even better that it resides in wakey  :happy2:

That's definitely a different way to go with the wheel colour! Would be pretty nice.

Also, never thought to use that business park as a photo place :signLOL:
