so Im assuming the cam follower 'issue' potentially remains for the R20 ??
have they made any upgrades to the TFSI given the number of years its been running?

just slight revisions here and there, but alot of design flaws still remain.

So where does that leave the mk6 golf gti is that less tunable than the mk5 gti then so there be no ed30 mk6 model?

mk6 gti maps straight to 275hp due to not beig hindered by the fuel pump inefficiency as the mk5 gti.

They will probably just give it a remap out of the factory.  Thats what they did for the mk4 anni.  Same engine mapped to 180 bhp instead of 150 ...

i was told 150bar by revo, consensus is its tunable but main limit as always is smaller turbo, i'm looking forward to the roc going stage 2 in november to see what they tsi will do

the tsi is totally different to unit in ed30 with power delivery and how you need to drive it

No, the earlier 1.8T's had the K03 and a cable throttle.  There were a couple of revisions of this engine and I forget the engine codes.  Then the AUM was introduced from around 2001 that had variable valve timing, the K03s turbo and drive by wire amongst other changes but was still 150 bhp as per the previous engines.

Then the 25th Anni was released with the AUQ engine but this was identical bar the map to the AUM (Same KO3s turbo).  In fact this engine became the standard GTI engine towards the end with non anni's leaving the factory with 180 bhp
