Removing factory tints?

Viewing an 06 Gti tomorrow evening with rear factory tints, can these be removed?

Neither do I. Pretty sure if it's factory spec it'll be darker glass, not film.

06 car came with blue glass and not factory tinted that was optional on some later cars.

These are dark, makes a black GTI look like a van.

Factory tints cannot be removed.  if they are aftermarket tints then they should pull off.

Did vw do dark rear tints on the two rear quarter and hatch windows?

Looks naff and a little chav, how much to replace two rear side windows? I can live with the hatch.

^^^ Yes but they're not stupidly dark. I'd guess the car you're looking at has aftermarket drug dealer tints.

Interesting how opinions vary, I think the privacy glass makes the car look much better and wish my GT had it.

They're definitely not chav looking so, as mentioned above, these may be aftermarket.

Easiest way of telling is to look at the heater wires for the heated window. Tinting film will form a tiny bridge over them...
