Help. Windows dont work. Please read.
« on: April 09, 2014, 12:38:10 pm »
Orite guys.  My windows have stopped working in my 2006 golf gti 3 door.  It started off very intermitent then they stopped working all together. All i get is a click from both  door modules.  Ive replaced the drivers side after scanning it with Vagcom and still no joy.  Checked the common problem with the trapped wires.  Wires are all fine.
Can anyone please suggest something as im now beginning to get annoyed with it...

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Dan 07970152698.

i was told you have to recode the modules when you fit new ones

there are 2 feeds into the door motors one big one say 30A fuse for the motor and one small one say 5A fuse are you sure the big supply has power?

also undo the door plug and make sure the big brown wire had continuity back to the body of the car, as smaller stuff could still work but if higher current motor for window won't work you might have a broken wire in the rubber
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

Thinking about it. I did check that and got no power to very little to it. :/...  But yet ive found no broken wires. This is why im confused :(.

When I say broken wires,  I mean the copper inside the PVC, as usually the PVC insulation remains intact

Well that's only a guess, you need to make sure first by measuring voltages,  cheching continuity and making sure fuses are OK. By using these methods you should be able to tell what the problem is before you spend say 60 quid on a loom
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

Cheers guys.  Checked every singal wire going to and coming from the module all correct readings as they should be. Going to purchase a new module/regulator for the drivers door as i think the relay inside may have gone...
Massive thanks for the help and info :)...  At least im sure its the module now :)..
Cheers guys.
