Got my arches replaces on my 05 gti by vw Arnold Clark in Rutherglen (Glasgow) last October.

Warranty guy took a look at it and 20 mins later had me booked in. 100% contribution and no hassle at all.

Went into Parkway VW in Derby today to get my wings looked at. Bloke took pics and measurements etc and said he would refer it to VW head office. I told him that l had heard VW were now doing 100% contributions, he did confirm that he had seen the email. Twenty minutes or so after leaving l got a phone call from him saying VW were offering me 50%, but if I wanted to phone him to 'discuss my options' he would be happy to help me.

Sounds good.

EDIT. VW Parkway referred me to VW Customer Care on 08000833914. Spoke to Arnie who is escallating the case. Due a call back within 48 working hours.

Will keep this thread updated.

Really interested to hear the outcome of this as Parkway Derby told me they can only do a 50% good will gesture a couple of months ago rather than honouring the corrosion warranty.

Good news guys....VW phoned me today and confirmed that indeed their stance has recently changed and that the rusting arches IS now being covered by 100% contribution.
So I advise anyone who has not already been granted this to resubmit a claim.

Thats great news! Any chance you have got this in writing ie an email, would help if any other dealers are messing about

Nothing in writing, they just said the VW dealer will phone me to arrange to book it in with their approved bodyshop.

I'm really interested to see this news as I have a live claim on with vw at the moment where they have offered 75% towards 2 new wings

Hopefully you guys manage to get it done for 100% free.. Just taking my own in today and should hear back from them next week sometime, will keep you guys tuned in on what happens.

Just noticed my door sills are starting to go. Would that be covered?

I'm going to give this a try as my wings are just starting to go. They have a few wee tiny blobs coming through. Does it have to be full on rust or just a few bubbles?

My sills are also either badly painted or very slightly bubbled. Would they do them under the same claim?

Bubbling should be covered, thats what mine is. It will be considered as one claim.

Mine booked in to dealer on 1 May (had to wait that long as body shop don't work weekends and I work weekdays) - near side front wheel arch bubbled. They're looking, photographing and contacting VW so fingers crossed ..

gonna try taking mine in on sat and see what they say! will report back! only minor bubbling on my 05' but want it sorting sooner rather than later
