My missus has trashed my passenger side skirts getting in and out of the car to the point they now need a respray (pics below). I washed the car yesterday and noticed its got the same issues on both sides at the rear with the kids getting in and out of the car.

Wwhat is there that can be done to reduce the likelihood of this happening as bizarrely this has never been an issue on any of my last cars over the previous 10 years +.  Some form of transparent rub-strip maybe?

Ditto as above. I find high heels are a common cause for similar scuffs on my car.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

In that case you should stop wearing high heels in the Golf Jaz. :happy2:

Not sure how much a localised application of it will cost tbh, but thinking about it you'd probably be better off just buying some helicopter tape and treating the individual sections yourself, heli tape is cheaper and is a lot easier to work with as a DIY job on a curved section like your skirts and it still remains optically clear when applied  :happy2:

3M products are always well regarded and fairly cheap if this size roll would do your skirts?

Have a read on here too as they seem to offer a thinner tape that may be easier to work with? http://www.paragontapes.co.uk/products
