On the ads which only have an e-mail option to contact - I e-mail them via that ad page on Gumtree, and I got a reply back - but I can't then respond! I gather Gumtree uses some kind of cloaked secure e-mail - so you can't e-mail the person back directly (unless they actually give you their own personal e-mail addy). When I got the e-mail reply, it said about their secure e-mail, and just click on reply as normal from your normal e-mail client. I know the seller was desparate to get shut of, an I (well actually Mrs Tamer) was keen to buy - so I can't understand what's gone wrong /////////
The e-mail addy I registered on Gumtree is one of my many ENTA.net addys - and I can successfully send an receive to/from other e-mail addresses when using web mail, and I can receive on my fone too (can't send because I don't have authority to send from outside my ISP).
