If you get it for 21 large I think you'll have an excellent deal, never mind good deal.

The above comments about choice are probably reasonable, I'm guessing that if you don't by this S3 then it's back to the big question time and seeing what you can find to buy.

Hi Kev,

The guy from Penrith has placed a deposit on the car. So subject to payment it's sold. Managed to get the 21500.

I hope you manage to find another S3 soon mate. It's rubbish being without a motor!

All the best

Simon

THAT S3 has the modifications i would be doing anyway, ie nearly 1000 pounds worth and the car is a very good price 08 plate with its low mileage regardless when you compare it with others.
If i eventually get my hands on it for 21000, i think it will be a good deal.

Kev

No missed my point!  I understand that car has all the mods and does look a good deal, but you have stated if you don't get that one then its back onto an ED30?  Surely you've set your mind on an S3 now, or are you easy either way??

Just curious.....

Oli,
To be fair an edition 30 is what i set out to buy then this S3 appeared at a price not that much higher than the golf.
I would imagine I will now try and find an ed30 again, the prices just seem a little too high for me at the moment.

Cheer , understand now.

Enjoy the car hunt, neither will disappoint, although running into the winter season now, the haldex 4wd will have a certain appeal......

Seat Leon i am not a great fan of I have to say.

Right now I am desperately looking for a nice spec'd edition 30, hopefully a forum car that has been well looked after  with sensible mods

Nothing much doing just now, just constantly checking PH and Autotrader, its getting sad

You can still get a brand new ED 30 here  :happy2:  :-

http://www.motorprovider.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=New_VW_GOLF_EDITON_30_AUTO_1

It will be a Euro import but may be worth checking out.   I bought my first GTi from them, and had no problems with warranty or servicing etc.  The 2 year VW warranty starts from the date of the PDI,  so worth asking them what this is if you're interested.

P.S.  I note the cheaper ED 30's with no options have now sold out, so expect these better specced ones to sell out soon too !
