Anyone own a 2009 tdi?

Called VW customer service

Up to a build date of September  2009 it is a 4 year interval
After September 2009 it changed to 5 years as they changed to a better composite

Is that on all engines?

Been watching this thread with interest as I have a GTD which has the CR170 engine, Mine will be 4 years old in October this year (35k miles) so I was Looking at a bill this year to get the belt /kit changed so if this can be clarified via email or something from VW stating it is 5 years not 4 that would be great 

Call VW customer services with your reg no and vin no and they will tell you.

What about if its a SEAT?

I asked my local dealer about it and they said 4 years

I wouldn't worry too much about what Seat dealers tell you. Mine tried to convince me that my camshaft needed tensioning.

No, it was on a TDI BKD engine. In any case, I'm not sure there's any possible way a camshaft would need tensioning.

I know the TFSI runs a chain between the 2 cams and that could require a new tensioner

Cambelts and cam chains require tensioning. A camshaft (and they were very specific about this being the camshaft) can't be tensioned.

I have Just had a reply from VW UKhelp on twitter who say my 2010 CR170 is 5 years ..... Result REVO money
